We are excited to celebrate with our valued partner Optus Stadium in welcoming their 10 millionth fan. On Sunday the 10th of November, the 10 millionth fan was scanned into the gates at Optus Stadium, cracking a major milestone for the Perth venue.
Almost seven years after a one-day international gave Optus Stadium its first major event, it was fitting that the same format of cricket helped bring about the major crowd milestone.
Since opening in January 2018, 307 major events have been held at the stadium, with the biggest attendance at any Optus Stadium event being 73,092 for Ed Sheeran’s concert in March 2023.
The lucky fan who brought up the milestone was Bunbury’s Eric Mennen, 11, who attended with his brother Charles (13) and parents Kelly and Tony.
A huge prize pack was awarded to the young fan, to which we kindly donated $1,000 worth of Ticketmaster gift cards. He was also lucky enough to score four tickets to The West Test, a $200 Optus Stadium food-and-beverage voucher, Airpods, and a $500 Optus voucher.
Optus Stadium has hosted AFL, AFLW and WAFL, all three forms of cricket, NRL including two State of Origin matches, rugby union (including two Bledisloe Cups with our third set for 2025), WWE and numerous concerts including Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, P!NK, Taylor Swift, and U2 — as well as soccer greats, AC Milan and AS Roma.
