For the first time in its history, together with Ticketmaster, the Australian International Airshow celebrated a completely sold-out weekend.

From the 3rd – 5th of March 2023, almost 150,000 members of the general public attended the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport in Geelong.

More commonly known as the Avalon Airshow, the biennial event showcases the latest in aviation technology and Australia’s aviation history and gathers aviation enthusiasts worldwide.

Ticketmaster and the Australian International Airshow share an esteemed partnership to ensure the ticketing of the Airshow is seamless and efficient from onsale to entry.

Over the three Trade Days, almost 19,000 professionals attended, while the public dates over the weekend boasted nearly 60,000 attendees daily. A total of 166,493 trade exhibitors’ and visitor’s tickets were scanned from the 28th of February to the 5th of March. The Airshow also allowed kids under 15 to enter the show for free for the first time in its history.

Gavin Taylor, Ticketmaster Australia Managing Director, said helping the Australian International Airshow achieve incredible attendance results is key to our ticketing experience.

“We have utilised a host of innovative Ticketmaster technology to successfully deliver the 2023 Airshow and are proud to have played a part in achieving a sold-out weekend.” says Taylor.

As part of our partnership the Australian International Airshow utilised Ticketmaster technology, including digital ticketing, TicketTransfer and, for the first time, TM1 Entry. This was also the first time in the Airshow’s history that ticketing was entirely digital, and the only way to purchase tickets was online.

Airshow visitors – whether attending one of the world-class trade days or the weekend event days – experienced an outstanding event experience from ticket purchase to turn out.

With more fans than ever entering the Airshow in 2023, Ticketmaster was a key partner in delivering best-in-class technology to guarantee fans frictionless entry into the Avalon precinct.
