In a commitment to supporting World Cancer Day, Ticketmaster Australia has partnered with Cancer Council Australia for the second year in a row and raised $33,828 for the cause.

Across February and March, Ticketmaster Australia set out to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia as part of the global Ticketmaster World Cancer Day initiative. A donation upsell across all events, allowed fans to donate while purchasing tickets to their favourite events – where all funds raised go directly to the Cancer Council.

World Cancer Day is a global initiative held every February 4th to raise awareness of the global impact of cancer, improve education and work together to ensure as many preventable cancer deaths are saved, and access to treatment is equitable for all.

Almost every single Australian will be impacted by cancer at one point in their lives, whether it be personally or through friends, family or even colleagues.

Cancer Council is the only Australian charity working across every aspect of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. They play a pivotal role in the fight against cancer through their comprehensive approach.

As a leading national non-profit organisation, they fund ground breaking research to better understand the mechanisms of cancer and develop more effective treatments.

For individuals battling cancer, Cancer Council Australia offers vital support services, including counselling, information resources, and patient support groups, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone. Through these multifaceted efforts, Cancer Council Australia significantly contributes to decreasing the burden of cancer across the country.

Gavin Taylor, Ticketmaster Australia Managing Director, said “We are so proud to be supporting such an important cause, and such an incredible organisation as part of our global World Cancer Day initiative.”

“We would like to say a big thank you to Ticketmaster for the opportunity to partner for World Cancer Day this year. The support of Ticketmaster and their customers is helping us fund life-saving cancer research, provide key cancer information and support service, and enables us to empower communities with better ways to prevent cancer. We are thrilled by the result and the impact the funds raised will have on Australians affected by cancer.”, Rosie O’Brien, Head of Philanthropy, Cancer Council NSW.

We want to thank everyone who has joined in on our initiative to raise awareness and funds for the global issue of cancer.
