Ticketmaster has been working closely with key stakeholders on a variety of ‘Return to Live’ solutions through product enhancements and initiatives, in accordance with State Government COVID safe guidelines.

This suite of solutions aims to make the event process – from putting an event on sale, to purchasing tickets, and event day entry – as seamless as possible for Ticketmaster clients and ticketholders.

In partnership with Marvel Stadium and the AFL, Ticketmaster is pleased to launch an integrated vaccine check in solution enabling fans to quickly check in and verify vaccination status upon venue entry.

Trialled at the Melbourne Renegades VS Adelaide Strikers BBL clash at Marvel Stadium on Tuesday 7 December, the new process was deemed a success with almost 50% of fans using the Check-In feature.

Ticketmaster’s COVID-entry communications begin seven days before event day – when customers receive an event reminder email with Covid messaging specific to each State and venue’s entry requirements. This information is customisable by our venues if requested, allowing them complete control of their COVID-safe messaging.

On event day, ticketholders will receive an email and an SMS linking them directly to the venue’s COVID check-in page (when supplied by the venue).

Customers will also receive a mobile push notification instructing them to check their email for more information. When activated, customers may also receive a live on-site push notification as they approach the precinct of your venue.

Together, this forms part of Ticketmaster’s world leading omni-channel communication approach, allowing for a simple and seamless venue entry process.

From the Ticketmaster SMS, customers can check-in as they approach the venue, avoiding the congestion of trying to scan QR codes on site, and can easily switch between their COVID-safe app and their Ticketmaster tickets.

Gavin Taylor, Managing Director of Ticketmaster Australia: “We are focused on providing clients, venues, and fans with the simplest and safest innovations to get back to the magic of live. This latest vaccination certificate integration, trialled in partnership with Marvel Stadium, is a huge step in getting fans safely back to the events they love.”

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers: “It is great to be able to bring fans back to Marvel Stadium and to major events in the state.

“The stadium is ready, our partners are ready to bring the summer events to life and roll into the AFL season in 2022.”

“We want to get big crowds back to events, connecting families and friends is something we have missed and our partnership with Ticketmaster will assist in getting fans safely back to the events they love.”

Ticketmaster’s COVID check-in integration will be rolled out across all Ticketmaster venues in Australia in the coming weeks. To have your venue’s specific Covid Check-In link included in your event day SMS, please reach out to your Client Manager.
