In 2014, Ticketmaster opened an office in the South Australian market and announced the acquisition of the iconic Thebarton Theatre. Our emergence in the region was further strengthened by the announcement of the two new sporting arenas, Adelaide Arena, which is home of the NBL’s Adelaide 36ers and WNBL’s Adelaide Lightning, and Netball SA Stadium, which hosts the Adelaide Thunderbirds matches in the ANZ Championship.

Both the 36ers and Thunderbirds have very strong home-town support and the teams have also enjoyed recent and continued success, making them very popular with the local community. Ticketmaster hopes to assist the teams and venues to continue their winning ways and will work hard to engage and excite local fans to ensure the clubs have plenty of support when they step onto the court. Our strong relationship with Live Nation will also assist to bring new and exciting content to South Australia.

Adelaide Arena is the largest purpose-built basketball arena in Australia, which makes it a very unique venue. It has a capacity up to 8000 and 2500 car parking spaces. Netball SA Stadium can cater for up to 3200 patrons and has a history of hosting many internationally significant netball test matches featuring Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England.

Ticketmaster is currently selling tickets for the BallUp Australia Tour 2015 at Adelaide Arena in March and will commence ticket sales for the Adelaide Thunderbirds’ 2015 season shortly.

The emergence into South Australia is very exciting for Ticketmaster. Our company’s goal is to continue to expand and grow to bring the very best in live entertainment to as wide an audience as possible. With a strong commitment to customer service, technology and fan engagement, Ticketmaster hopes to provide the local market with the most fun, efficient and easy ticket purchase process.

With the continued expansion into South Australia, Ticketmaster has appointed a State Manager for the market, Scott Beecken. Scott has extensive ticketing experience, well-established local relationships and extensive knowledge of the market.

The announcement of the Adelaide Arena and Netball SA Stadium to the Ticketmaster stable follows a successful 2014 in which Ticketmaster announced the opening of the Adelaide state office and the acquisition of iconic venue, Thebarton Theatre.

The Thebarton Theatre is a unique venue and regularly hosts exciting local and international acts. The event schedule for 2015 is already impressive with great music acts such as Chet Faker, Vance Joy, The Gypsy Kings and America with Sharon Corr. The venue is also set to host funny-men Ross Noble, Jim Jeffries and Noel Fielding in the coming months.

With fresh acquisitions and an already-exciting event schedule for 2015, the year ahead is set to be a busy but exciting time for Ticketmaster in South Australia. We will continue to provide clients and customers with the new and improved technology, superior event operations, effective marketing, world-class customer service and an easy and fun ticket purchase journey. We look forward to seeing you at one of our amazing events in South Australia very soon.
