Ticketmaster Australia and New Zealand Chairman will appear on panel highlighting major lessons the ticketing industry learned in 2020

Maria O’Connor, Ticketmaster Australia and New Zealand Chairman, will speak at the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) in March, on a panel titled: Ticketing: Moving Beyond 2020.

The discussion will focus on the prospective effects of COVID-19 and how those within the ticketing industry have adapted to the changes that emerged during 2020.

It will include a variety of prominent international ticketing figures including Nicole Jacobsen (Tickets.de), Anil Makhija (BookMyShow India), Georgia Roberts (Skiddle UK), Alexander Ruoff (CTS Eventim), and Scumeck Sabottka (MCT Agentur).

The panel is “calling on ticketing leaders from around the world,” to consider the impact of the past year so the ticketing industry can move forward into 2021 and beyond.

The International Live Music Conference (ILMC) began as the first meeting conference for leading individuals within the concert industry, and has now become the leading meeting place for professionals in the live music industry across the globe. Going virtual for the first time in 2021, Maria O’Connor will be speaking among some of the industry’s top leading professionals from all over the world.

Joining Ticketmaster in 1983 after relocating from Ireland, O’Connor – who was announced as CV Magazines female Chief Executive of the Year in 2017 – has focused on developing the ticketing industry over her 30-plus year career. Most notably by utilising technology within the industry and leading the shift of ticketing online.

As well as being Chairman of Ticketmaster Australia and New Zealand, O’Connor is also Vice President of Live Performance Australia. In an interview with The Ticketing Business about the AFL Grand final in 2020 and how COVID-19 has affected live events, O’Connor said, “The adoption of mobile tickets to ensure contact tracing compliance,” was a prominent change within the ticketing industry in 2020 and that “the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Ticketing: Moving Beyond 2020 panel will take place on Thursday 4 March from 11.30am to 12.30pm.

The ILMC v33 Conference will take place virtually from Wednesday 3 March until Friday 5 March. https://33.ilmc.com/.
